I’m an occupational therapist who believes mental clarity is the first step toward meaningful engagement, followed by the intentional design of an aligned sensory environment. Both begin with the ability to see and organize what is already there.
My journey with social and emotional learning began in 2017, when I was approached by Quinnipiac University and asked to design an elementary afterschool program for children that occupational therapy students could facilitate as part of their service-learning experience.
With three toddlers at home and days spent covering the young adolescent unit at Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital, my mission was simple: focus on what I wished my own children could learn and what I wished my young patients understood.
Years later, those early lessons have been researched, expanded, and refined into The Bubble Chronicles, a creative extension of my doctoral work at Boston University.
